PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent exposure from being temporarily changed extremely and to perform appropriate exposure control by controlling the exposure of an area estimated as the area where a main subject is present when an unintended subject whose luminance is extremely high or low enters an imaging screen. SOLUTION: A luminance detection circuit 13 detects luminance in the imaging screen, and the variation of the luminance is obtained by a luminance variation detection circuit 14 on the basis of the detected luminance value. When the variation of the luminance is equal to or above a predetermined value, it is controlled to become an appropriate exposure value by changing an exposure system by an exposure control system changing circuit 15.
