PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saturated norbornene film which ensures suppressed occurrence of color unevenness on a liquid crystal display screen with the lapse of time when employed as a retardation plate of a liquid crystal display device, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The saturated norbornene film gives a change (δRe) in the in-plane retardation (Re) with the lapse of time at 80°C for 1,000 hr and a change (δRth) in the retardation (Rth) in the thickness direction with the lapse of time at 80°C for 1,000 hr of 0-10% each.
