PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner having stable performance less susceptible to the environment and, in particular, free of occurrence of a ghost image due to charge up even at low humidity. SOLUTION: In the magnetic toner comprising magnetic toner particles and an inorganic fine powder mixed with the magnetic toner particles, the weight average particle diameter (D4) of the magnetic toner is 3-10μm; the average circularity of the magnetic toner is≥0.970; the magnetic toner particles contain at least a magnetic iron oxide as a magnetic material; intensity of magnetization of the magnetic toner in a magnetic field of 79.6 kA/m (1,000 Oe) is 10-50 Am<SP>2</SP>/kg (emu/g); the ratio (B/A) of the content (B) of an iron element to the content (A) of a carbon element present in surfaces of the magnetic toner particles measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis is <0.001; and an organometallic compound contained in the magnetic toner particles is an azo-iron compound producible from a monoazo compound of a special structure.
