PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic door closing device of parking equipment, which can automatically close a door of a car exit by mechanically and surely detecting the existence of a person, an animal, etc. left in a car exit area. SOLUTION: This device for automatically closing the door 4 provided in the car exit 3 of the mechanical parking equipment 1 is provided with a detection means 11 for detecting the person, the animal, etc. in the whole of the exit area 2 after a car leaves the parking equipment, and a control means 14 for controlling the automatic closing of the door 4 on the basis of the result of detection by the detection means 11. The whole of the car exit area 2 after the car leaves the parking equipment is detected by an area sensor 11 of the detection means, so that a state of the absence of the person and the animal can be detected, and according to this, the door 4 is automatically closed by the control means 14, so that the person and the like are surely detected without being left in the car exit area 2, so that the door 4 can be automatically closed. Thus, even in the case of a door of such a type as to be operated by a driver, the door of the car exit can be automatically closed, without making the driver get out of the car after the car leaves the car parking equipment.
