PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag module easy to assemble and having a sufficient durability in service. SOLUTION: This airbag module includes an improved canister and a retainer assembly. It is provided with a method of mounting the airbag module on a vehicle. The canister includes an end cap of snap system to be installed in the central part of the canister. A holding mechanism enables the snap system while a lap joint assures a special safety for allowing the end cap to remain in the central part certainly at the time of assembling and when an inflator secured to the inside of the canister is going to be started.
