PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonographic apparatus which can confirm whether the surface of an object is extracted appropriately. SOLUTION: This apparatus has a cross-sectional position setting means which sets up a desired cross-sectional position in these three-dimensional echo data memorized in a three-dimensional echo data memorizing means, a shadow adding means which adds a shadow to surface echo data that this surface position extracted by a surface position extraction means to extract a desired object surface position in these three-dimensional echo data memorized in the three-dimensional echo data memorizing means shows, and a means which synthesizes and indicates a three-dimensional image from cross-sectional echo data whose position is set up by the cross-sectional position setting means and these surface echo data whose shadow is added by the shadow adding means.
