PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact medal counting device which minimizes the jamming with medals without being restricted by the installing location. SOLUTION: A belt 11 for conveying the medals which receives the medals 17 supplied to be conveyed to the discharge position is provided at the lower part of a medal supply port 16, a reversion belt 13 for the alignment of the medals which makes the medals 17 conveyed pass being separated one by one is provided in the proximity to the belt 11 for conveying the medals and the both are driven with one motor 12 for driving the belts. The medals 17 passing through the reversion belt 13 for the alignment of the medals are detected with a medal counting sensor 14. The conveyance and separation of the medals with the belts makes the whole of the device compact and the reversion belt 13 for the alignment of the medals is driven to move in the direction opposite to the direction of conveying the medals 17 thereby eliminating the jamming with the medals.
