<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device having a plurality of image forming speeds, capable of easily producing appropriate images at each image forming speed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device comprises an LED array 6 that implements exposure on the basis of an input image signal, a photoconductive drum 10 that forms an electrostatic latent image by the exposure of the LED array 6, a development unit 7 that elicits the electrostatic latent image, a transfer and charging unit 8 that transfers the elicited image onto a transfer material, and a fixing unit 9 that fixes the image on the transfer material. When the operating speed of the image forming process is set as the image forming speed, the image forming speed can be set at a plurality of levels.
