<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen labor of users when determining appropriateness of a sale at an automatic vending machine. <P>SOLUTION: A card reader 15 reads an adult identification card, and a card authentication portion 22a in a sale propriety determining section 22 determines sales appropriateness of a product by authenticating the adult verification card. When performing sale of the product, an utilization history for each user is memorized as a customer data 32. When selling the product, a utilization history for each user is memorized as customer data 32. When the utilization history satisfies designated conditions, a user is notified that registration of a face image is possible, a face of the user wanted to register is photographed by a camera 16, and the amount of its characteristics is memorized in the customer data 32.
