PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable discovery of a disk volume from a host computer by updating registration information of a database, etc., such as iSNS and SLP, in response to a configuration modification of a storage unit. SOLUTION: In response to the operation contents of the storage configuration modification such as generation/deletion of a volume or an LUN, the modification contents are reflected in the database of iSNS and SLP. Also, in response to a modification of LUN masking setting, an iSNS discovery domain or an SLP attribute value are updated so that the host computer can discover the disk volume. Further, through the periodic registration of an object or a service in response to the designation of an iSNS registration period or an SLP lifetime, the registration contents are maintained so as not to expire.
