PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device realizing high resolution, weight reduction, and thinness. SOLUTION: The display device comprises an anode substrate 2, a cathode substrate 4 of flat plate shape which forms an electron emission chamber 6 vacuum sealed between the anode substrate 2, an electron source 3 formed on the cathode substrate 4, a phosphor 1 formed on the anode substrate 2, and a vacuum sealing member 7 which forms a pressure balancing chamber 8 on the counter electron emission chamber side of the cathode substrate 4. The vacuum sealing member 7 is arranged so as to cover the counter electron emission chamber side of the cathode substrate 4 and forms the pressure balancing chamber 8 vacuum sealed between the cathode substrate 4, and has a shell structure to receive the atmospheric pressure on the whole surface nearly uniformly.
