PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the oral administration of a physiologically active protein, particularly an interferon which is desirable to improvement of QOL (quality of life) of a patient. SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition comprises a swelling hydrogel matrix and an interferon or a physiologically active protein factor as a pharmaceutical effective component and the hydrogel matrix comprises a copolymer of methacrylic acid with a poly(alkylene glycol)monomethacrylate.
