PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize optimized operation of each block while preventing poor printing. SOLUTION: This printer can be vertically installed so that a printing sheet 3000 is carried in the state of its sheet face being directed in horizontal. The printing sheet in the state of its sheet face being directed in horizontal is carried from a sheet storage block 100 to a sheet discharge block 800. The sheet storage block has a sheet receiving plate 5 for receiving one sheet face of the printing sheet stored therein in the state that the printer is vertically installed and a pressing means 7 opposed to the sheet receiving plate and adapted to be moved close to or apart from the sheet receiving plate depending on the thickness of the printing sheet stored therein for pressing the other face on the opposite side to one face of the printing sheet.
