PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device for a vehicle capable of calculating the distance to the airbag of an occupant with a high accuracy and accurately controlling the airbag while avoiding constraint on the layout in designing of the inside of the cabin and reducing the cost. SOLUTION: The occupant crash protection device 1 comprises an acceleration sensor 3 for detecting an acceleration acting on a seat of the vehicle, a movement amount calculation circuit 9 for calculating the movement amount of the occupant sitting on the seat by integrating the acceleration value detected by the acceleration sensor 3 twice in a collision of the vehicle, an occupant distance deriving circuit 10 for deriving an occupant distance l after a movement between the occupant and the airbag 6 based on a preset and predetermined initial distance D as a distance between the occupant and the airbag 6 at the normal time and the movement amount calculated by the movement amount calculation circuit 9, and an airbag deployment control circuit 11 for controlling the deployment of the airbag 6 based on the occupant distance l.
