PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sand removal technique which is particularly effective for removing the sand remaining in a hollow blind hole after casting the hollow camshaft having the hollow blind hole, and can effectively remove the sand remaining in the blind hole, and can show the high production efficiency. SOLUTION: In order to remove the core sand remaining in the hollow blind hole h of the hollow camshaft C, the hollow camshaft C is successively carried by means of a conveyer apparatus 1 in the horizontal state, and then is clamped by clampers 4, 5. Next, the sand remaining in the hollow bind hole is cut by turning a drill 3a inserted from the aperture of the hollow blind hole h. After that, a shot blasting nozzle 6a is inserted into the hollow blind hole h, and shot materials, such as steel balls, are blasted. After that, an air nozzle 7a is inserted into the hollow blind hole h, and air is blasted. Finally, the hollow camshaft C is tilted by gripping it by chucking members 9 such that the aperture of the hollow blind hole h looks downward, and impacts are applied to the hollow camshaft C.
