PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent removal tool easily removing a coating agent remaining on the periphery of a rotary coating roller. SOLUTION: When the coating agent removal tool 1 is installed, and the rotary coating roller 3 is rotated, a part of a remaining coating agent in a coating agent supply passage is adhered to the periphery 3a of the rotary coating roller 3 to be carried to the scraping edge 13, and the part of the remaining coating agent on the periphery 3a is scraped by the scraping edge 13 to be recovered in a coating agent recovery part 11. The remaining coating agent adhered to the periphery 3a and remaining thereon without recovery is returned to the coating agent supply passage. Next, when the rotary coating roller 3 is appropriately moved in a direction of the rotary center line C while being installed with the coating agent removal tool 1, the remaining coating agent adhered to the periphery 3a is scraped by the scraping edge 18, at the same time, the part of the remaining coating agent in the coating agent supply passage is collected to a collection part 12. This removal operation is appropriately repeated and as a result, the remaining coating agent in the coating agent supply passage is gradually decreased in the whole direction of the rotary center line C.
