PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter for a display device which can be improved in photopic contrast and a display device into which the optical filter is built and especially, a plasma display device. SOLUTION: In transmittance spectra 43 of the optical filter, the transmittance in a region 43a of 430 to 445 nm for the wavelength, the transmittance in a region of 43b of 535 to 560 nm for the wavelength, and the transmittance in a region 43c of 605 to 630 nm for the wavelength are specified below 80% of the maximum value of the transmittance in the entire wavelength region of the visible light.
