PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize utilization of an optical filter as a wavelength selective filter, in optical communication, which is simple in structure, small in size, low in cost and ensures adequate wavelength selection and high performance. SOLUTION: The optical filter has a structure having a resonance grid disposed with a gap left from a substrate. By altering the period of the resonance grid, a designed wavelength can be selected freely. In addition, by applying a voltage between the substrate of the optical filter and the resonance grid, a gap interval is altered to make reflectivity variable.
