An optical film capable of effectively preventing the reflection of light on the surface of image display devices such as PDP, CRT and LCD, which optical film excels in not only scuff proofness and light transmission but also interlayer adhesion and can be produced at low cost. In particular, an optical film comprising a base film and, superimposed in sequence on at least one surface thereof, (A) a high-refractive-index hard coat layer of 1.60 to 1.75 refractive index and 2 to 20 mum thickness composed of (a) acicular antimony-doped tin oxide of 0.05 to 10 mum major-axis average particle diameter and 3 to 100 average aspect ratio, (b) at least one other metal oxide and (c) a substance hardened by ionizing radiation and (B) a low-refractive-index hard coat layer of 1.30 to 1.45 refractive index and 40 to 200 nm thickness.
