<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking brake device for a vehicle that can certainly apply a parking brake with hydraulic pressure and has a low cost and high mountability. <P>SOLUTION: When the parking brake is operated, a normally closed solenoid on-off valve 27 connected between a reservoir 18 and a wheel cylinder 20 is closed, a hydraulic pressure pump 26 is driven by an electric motor 23, brake fluid is supplied to a wheel cylinder from a delivery port, and the parking brake 22 generates a brake action force for limiting the rotation of a wheel 13. When the hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinder increases, the electric motor is stopped and the hydraulic pressure is sealed in the wheel cylinder. When the brake action force of the parking brake is released, the normally closed solenoid on-off valve is closed to decrease the hydraulic pressure in the wheel cylinder.
