PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crimping method for optical fiber cable which permits satisfactory optical-axis alignment of an optical fiber, prevention of damage to optical fiber and prevention of optical-axis deviation due to vibration etc. SOLUTION: A first optical fiber cable 1 and a second optical fiber cable 2 are butted against each other within a caulking sleeve 3 as the optical fiber cover 5 is left unremoved. In such a state, a cable insertion side part 12 of the caulking sleeve 3 is caulked and a cable butted part 13 of the caulking sleeve 3 is caulked, until the gap between the optical fiber cover 5 and the caulking sleeve 3 is lost. Caulking of the cable insertion side part 12 and the caulking of the cable butted part 13 may be conducted at the same time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
