PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring object by a variable natural oscillation cantilever and a device based on this method capable of performing highly accurate measuring by varying the natural frequency of the cantilever in a predetermined range. SOLUTION: In this object measuring device by the variable natural oscillation cantilever, the natural frequency of the cantilever 201 due to the application of light energy from the outside is controlled to be varied in the predetermined range, and characteristics of a substance as a sample are measured by controlling the natural frequency of the cantilever 201.
