PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leak sensor which is adapted to accumulate liquid leaks in a lower end sensing part of a leak sensing pipe formed at the bottom of a gap space of a double shell structure to enable a quick leak sensing. SOLUTION: The leak sensor comprises the leak sensing pipe whose lower end communicates with the gap space on the bottom side of a main tank and upper end projects out of the upper face of a storage tank, and which senses liquid leaks gathering in the lower end communicating with the gap space. The sensor also includes a liquid leak collecting band which is wound around the main tank to pass over the lower end of the leak sensing pipe and has both ends fixed to the upper face of the main tank, and is of a mesh structure insoluble and lubricative to a storage liquid. The liquid leaks from the main tank are accumulated in the lower sensing part via the liquid leak collecting band to enable quick leak sensing. At least two liquid leak collecting bands are so attached to the main tank as to cross at the lower end of the leak sensing pipe to cover every face of the fuel tank (main tank) of a rectangular parallelepiped. A sensing facilitating layer, which is made of a heat resistant material soluble to the storage liquid, is formed in the gap space to enable quick sensing of a small amount of liquid leaks.
