PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair with a reclining mechanism, capable of relieving the back shifting feel of a user and preventing decline of comfort in the feet of the user even if the chair is reclined under the environment with a fixed seat pitch. SOLUTION: A backrest 22 of the chair is turned with the vicinity of the rotation axis of the body (around the tuber of the ischium) of the user seated on a seat 21 as the rotation axis, when the user tilts the upper half body rearward, to change the posture between an upright posture and a reclining posture. When the backrest 22 is reclined, the seat 21 is associated with the rotation shaft 31 near the front end of the seat as the rotation axis in such a way that the rear end of the seat sinks. An air cylinder (not indicated) is operated in addition to a gas spring 46 with a lock mechanism, only when the posture of the backrest is returned to the upright posture, so that repulsion force for the return is increased.
