PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage drop detection method and device in a line printer which can effectively consume the residual capacity of a battery corresponding to changes in environmental temperatures to use the residual capacity of the battery at a maximum, in a line printer using a battery as a drive source. SOLUTION: In the voltage drop detection method, an environmental temperature is detected, and the temperature of a battery 4 is computed from the environmental temperature, to selectively set the detection value of a final voltage from the detected value of the final voltage stored corresponding to the temperature of the battery 4.
