PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method capable of obtaining an inorganic-based foamed body having restrained volumetric shrinkage at the time of burning, lightweight, excellent in heat insulation, water resistance, sound absorption and mechanical strength, and improved in non-combustibility. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the inorganic-based foamed body comprises kneading 5-50 pts. wt. of a vinylchloride resin, 50-95 pts. wt. of an inorganic filler, a foaming agent and an organic solvent in a kneader, heating and cooling the kneaded mass in a pressurized mold and then releasing the pressure to obtain the foamed body, wherein 0.1-25 pts. wt. of a fumed silica is incorporated based on a total 100 pts. wt. of the vinylchloride resin and the inorganic filler.
