PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone realizing a transfer telephone function at a low running cost by utilizing one telephone line. SOLUTION: Telephone conversation by a subscriber telephone through a telephone network, and so-called IP telephone through an IP network (Internet) are possible using the inventive telephone. Upon receiving a call from an external source through the telephone network, the telephone converts its voice signal into digital voice data and forwards it to a forwarding destination telephone number through the IP network. In other words, the external call received by a subscriber telephone is forwarded to other telephone number by utilizing IP telephone. Only one telephone line is required to be contracted and conventional contract of two lines is not required for forwarding a call and thereby call forwarding can be realized at a low cost. Since a low rate IP telephone is used for originating a call to a forwarding destination IP telephone number, call charge rate can be lowered and running cost can also be held down.
