PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device with excellent operability for a user capable of easily recording television broadcasting. SOLUTION: The video display device has a video signal processing means 3 which outputs a signal for executing image display on the display device 1; a semiconductor memory 4 for temporarily storing data of video and a voice of the video signal processing means 3; a semiconductor memory card 2 which records data read out from the semiconductor memory after adding file information to the data, is capable of arbitrarily reading out the recorded data, and freely attachable and detachable to and from the device; and a control means 6 for controlling the recording and reading operation to and from the semiconductor memory card 2. The control means 6 is constituted so as to calculate a remaining time of allowing an operator to record in the semiconductor memory card 2, and execute the display for calling attention to the operator when a recording scheduled time exceeds the remaining recordable time by comparing the recording scheduled time of data based on the operation action of the operator with the remaining recordable time.
