PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of positioning an imaging element capable of downsizing and precisely adjusting an imaging device. SOLUTION: The method of positioning the imaging element includes adjustment steps of radiating laser to at least one of predetermined regions 21, 22 and 23 of an imaging element support 1 including a plurality of fixing parts 14, 15 and 16 to be fixed to a housing 5 having a lens, and a plurality of mounting parts for mounting the imaging element to thermally deform the support; monitoring signal waveforms of an image focused on the imaging element to change energy or radiation time of the laser; and adjusting the position of the imaging element with respect to the optical axis of the lens.
