PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road wheel for an automobile in which the rigidity of the road wheel is increased without increasing the weight of a spoke part, and transmission of the road noise generated between a tire and a road surface is reduced thereby. SOLUTION: A sectional area changing point 9 is provided between a coupling part with a hub part of a spoke part 7 and a coupling part with a rim part. The sectional area at the section orthogonal in the longitudinal direction is substantially constant on the hub side (the inner circumferential side) from the sectional area changing point 9. The sectional area is reduced toward the outer circumferential direction on the rim side (the outer circumferential side) of the sectional area changing point 9. More specifically, an inner face 7i of the spoke part 7 on the hub side is formed straight, and the inner face of the spoke part on the rim side is curved in a recessed shape.
