PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear guide having a suitable contact characteristic for contact between a rolling body and a groove, by using the cross-sectional contour of the groove on a rail and a slider. SOLUTION: This linear guide is constituted so that a parabola is used as the cross-sectional contour of the groove on the rail and the slider, to thereby avoid the problem of severely increasing friction between the rolling body and its groove by the whole contact between the rolling body of the linear guide and its groove. The cross-sectional contour of such a groove can bring about excellent load capacity for the linear guide by providing an effective and excellent load area by the linear guide.
