PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute high-speed channel scanning of broadcast requiring the channel scanning such as digital terrestrial broadcasting in an environment where plural kinds of digital broadcasting are transmitted with the same modulation system like re-transmission of digital broadcasting in a CATV. SOLUTION: Program arrangement information with a fast transmission period is acquired in which information is described for enabling a user to discriminate that the broadcasting is not a search target. Immediately after finding the information that the broadcasting is not the target, it is shifted to the next channel by skipping the succeeding processing. By this, it is possible to reduce the processing executed in all the channels, to which the digital broadcasting is transmitted, and for executing the determination whether a broadcast wave of the channel is the target broadcast wave or not by acquiring a NIT so as to be executed in partial channels.
