SPRING DETECTOR AND PLENUM SPRING FEEDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a plenum spring of an appropriate length in accordance with every type of pellets accommodated in a cladding tube. SOLUTION: A spring cassette 12 for feeding plenum springs 21 one by one is placed. A first sensor 31, a second sensor 32, a third sensor 33 and a fourth sensor 34 consisting of optical sensors for detecting tightly wound parts 21b of the plenum springs 21 are placed as length detection means for detecting the length of the plenum springs 21 fed from the spring cassette 12 to a feeding component 22 are placed. A controller is placed to judge whether the fed plenum springs 21 have a prescribed length or not on the basis of the detection results from the length detection means. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
