PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material testing machine capable of always applying the optimum filtering processing to detection output such as test power, extension or the like corresponding to the kind of a load cell, an extensiometer or the like used in the testing machine or the quantity of noise superposed on each detection output based on disturbance. SOLUTION: A plurality of kinds of filter techniques and parameters are stored in memory means 2f and 3f with respect to filters 2c and 3c for respectively applying filtering processing to detection output such as test power, extension or the like and, on the basis of the quantity of noise superposed on the kind of the load cell 2 to be used or the kind of the extensiometer 3 and the respective detection outputs thereby, the optimum filtering method and a parameter are automatically set to the respective filters 2c and 3c to perform the optimum filtering processing corresponding to the states of the respective detection outputs.
