PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition containing uniformly dispersed optically functional microparticles such as near-infrared shielding microparticles or visible-shielding microparticles, to provide a resin base containing the resin composition, and to provide a method for producing the resin composition. SOLUTION: The PET resin composition is produced by mixing 10 pts. wt. optically functional microparticles having a specific surface area of 30 m<SP>2</SP>/g with 90 pts. wt. ethylene glycol, dispersing the mixture by means of a bead mill to obtain a dispersion in which the microparticles are dispersed in a mean dispersion particle diameter of 80 nm in the ethylene glycol, mixing 58 pts. wt. above dispersion with 80 pts. wt. dimethyl terephthalate, 0.13 pt. wt. calcium acetate dihydrate, and 0.03 pt. wt. antimony trioxide, melt-mixing the resultant mixture by heating, and polymerizing the mixture by further heating. The produced PET resin composition is processed into a film to obtain a PET resin base having a film thickness of 25μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
