The interrupter has a power converter (2) which is constituted of semiconductor components e.g. thyristor. Capacitors are provided for storing electric energy. The power converter has power electrodes (2a, 2b) constituting two electrode terminals of the interrupter. A circuit (3) detects the maximum or minimum of potential difference and controls the opened or closed state of the interrupter.
