<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-application type IC card for efficiently using a rewritable memory. <P>SOLUTION: An EEPROM 13 of a multi-application type IC card is mounted with a common command application 40 in which an application 30 can be used in common. A command executing means 21 entrusts the common command application 40 with the processing of a command received from an external device outside a figure, and entrusts the application 30 with the processing when the processing is not executable by the common application 40. Therefore, it is possible to efficiently use a writable memory by providing the common application 40. Also, a common command application erasing means 22 is provided with a function which does not erase the common command application 40 when the common application 40 is being currently used.
