PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt tension adjusting device which can adjust the tension of a belt stably and can stand long use because required functions are not lessened even if the device repeatedly receives heat shock over the conventional assumed limitation and particularly because a slide bearing of synthetic resin can rotatably support a pivot stably without causing creep deformation. SOLUTION: In the belt tension adjusting device, a pulley arm is rotatably attached to the pivot 3 with a collar 2 via the slide bearing 4 formed of a cylindrical molded body of synthetic resin. The pivot 3 is secured to an engine block of an internal combustion engine for an automobile by a bolt 1. Discontinuous dovetail grooves 11 which register with dovetails 10 are formed in an inner surface of a shaft hole of the pivot 3. A die having a same diameter as the collar 2 is inserted in the shaft hole. Then, synthetic resin is injected into a cavity for molding so that the cylindrical slide bearing 12 having the discontinuous two dovetails 10 extending on the outer peripheral wall in the axial direction is integrally arranged on the inner surface of the shaft hole of the pivot 3. Thus, it is possible to obtain the bearing-equipped fulcrum shaft in which the slide bearing 12 is united with the pivot 3 under such a condition that the dovetail grooves 11 and the dovetails 10 are registered with each other.
