PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress arc discharge generated at rail insulation parts provided on a division point of a signal section of an electric railway. SOLUTION: An arc discharge suppression device 5 in an electric railway has a voltage detection circuit 6 which is connected to both ends of rail insulation part 1, 2 formed on a boundary of signal sections of the electric railway to detect the voltage between both ends, a voltage adjustment circuit 7 in which the working voltage is set by the input operation, and a power absorption circuit which is connected to both ends of the rail insulation parts, allows the bypass current to run by conducting both ends when the voltage detected by the voltage detection circuit exceeds the working voltage set in the voltage adjustment circuit, and converts the energy of the bypass current into the heat energy and discharges the heat energy.
