PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shredder constituted so as to prevent unreasonable force from acting on a bearing 25 which supports a rotary shaft 7. SOLUTION: A support plate 40 can be pushed to the left by a female screw member 46 (see the arrow G in Fig.). By this constitution, the inner race 25a of a left bearing 25 is put to the left with respect to the outer race 25b of the bearing 25 through the rotary shaft 7 to bring balls 25c into contact with the outer race 25b and the inner race 25a in a state that the original play of the bearing 25 is reduced. In this state, the support plate 40 is made movable not only in a left and right direction with respect to the fitting part 39a of a support shaft 39 but also in the radial direction of the shaft 39. As a result, even if the right-hand part 7a of the rotary shaft 7 is bent at the time of shredding, the support plate 40 can be inclined left and right centering around the rotary shaft 7 (see the arrow F in Fig.).
