An intervertebral cage for placement between two successive vertebrae comprises two opposed faces intended to contact the vertebral bodies linked by an essentially cylindrical external lateral face. The two opposed faces are delimited by two essentially identical enveloping cylindrical surfaces the directrix of each of which has the form of a sinusoidal period. With reference to Figure 3. The directrix of the cylindrical lateral external face (4) has a first form effectively trapezoidal isosceles. The cage comprises a transversal piercing (20) exiting on the two opposed faces(2, 3). The section of this on a plane effectively perpendicular to the generatrix of the external lateral face shows a second trapezoidal isosceles form effectively homothetic to the first form with a relational homotheticity below one. The two opposed faces comprise notches (21) in the form of saw teeth with each tooth having a steeply sloping side (22) turned towards the long baseline of the trapezoidal isosceles forms and an inclined side (23).
