The locking mechanism for wheel suspensions of a vehicle (1) comprises a yoke for mounting above the wheel suspension (2) and with two arms (8) which by their first ends are pivotably suspended on the yoke, and by their other ends support a cylinder (10) between them so that a displacement of the cylinder results in the two arms swinging out from one another. The locking mechanism also has two locking fittings (5) for mounting on the suspension and with facing U-shaped shells to accommodate the other ends of the arms.
