ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE HIGH POLYMER ACTUATOR

Two electrically conductive high polymer membranes (2a, 2b), one being adapted to expand and the other to contract by oxidation/reduction reaction are connected by a link mechanism (30) which interconverts the contractional displacement of one membrane into the expansive displacement of the other. This arrangement makes it possible to generate the driving force in the direction of expansion of one electrically conductive high polymer membrane by the driving force in the direction of compression of the other electrically conductive high polymer membrane.
