<p>Generally, measurement of specific heat requires a very long time and the instrument cost is high. The variation with time of the temperature of a sample having a known density and a predetermined volume is measured when the sample is brought from an environment of a first temperature to another of a second temperature, the thermal time constant is determined from the measured variation, and the specific heat is calculated from the thermal time constant. In this method, a vibration densitometer can be used. That is, the above predetermined volume corresponds to the volume of when the sample is introduced into the vibration densitometer, the above density is the result of measurement by means of the vibration densitometer, and the above thermal time constant corresponds to the time constant of the vibration period of the vibration densitometer.</p> |
