A current supply unit (SA) comprises parallel current feed modules (GR1-6), input data modules (C11-12) representing the current condition and a control unit (CTR) connected through a data bus (CAN) to the current supply control. An emergency current supply is provided in the event of a failure in the control unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a current supply module;and (B) an input/output module as above.
