The invention relates to an air purification device for reducing pollutants in the air. Said device comprises an ioniser (904), which is exposed to an air flow (906) and impinged upon by an ionisation power from a driver stage (903) for ionising the air that is supplied by the air flow, and a gas sensor (905) for measuring pollutant concentrations. To provide an air purification device, which purifies the air according to requirements even if the pollutant concentrations change rapidly and/or have extreme values, the driver stage (903), ioniser (904) and gas sensor (905) co-operate with a controller (902) in a closed loop control circuit, in such a way that the output signal of the gas sensor (905) essentially corresponds to a predetermined target value. |
