<p>A microscope comprising a light guide optical system (20) including an objective lens (21) and beam splitters (27a, 27b) for branching the optical image of a sample (S), a photodetector (31) for acquiring the image of the sample (S), and two CCD cameras (33, 34) for focus control arranged on the optical paths branched by the beam splitters (27a, 27b). The cameras (33, 34) are so arranged as to be inclined with respect to the optical paths such that the optical path lengths in the light guide optical system (20) are varied in the reverse directions along the z-axis. The images picked up by these cameras (33, 34) are analyzed by a focus control section (37) and the focus at the time of imaging the sample (S) is controlled according to the results of analysis. A microscope capable of preferably performing focal control at the time of picking up the image of the sample is thereby realized.</p> |
