<p>A plurality of pixels are gathered into a pixel group and a pixel group gradation value representing the pixel group is decided. Next, a pixel group hierarchy value is encoded by referencing a correlation (table for encoding) in which the pixel group gradation value and a code value are arranged for each identifier (classification number) assigned to the pixel group. After this, by referencing a decoding table in which a code value is correlated to presence/absence of dot formation for each pixel in the pixel group for each classification number, the dot formation presence/absence is decided for each pixel from the code value of each pixel group and dot formation is performed according to the dot formation presence/absence decided. By using a code value of a small data amount, it is possible to rapidly generate and transmit/receive data. Furthermore, since it is possible to decide presence/absence of dot formation directly from the code value, it is possible to rapidly output a high-quality image.</p> |
