Disclosed is a method for producing an ocular lens material which comprises a step for reacting and covalently bonding a compound having a phosphorylcholine group represented by the formula (1) below with the surface of an ocular lens material having a hydroxyl group. This method for producing an ocular lens material is characterized in that a compound represented by the formula (2) below is reacted with an ocular lens material in an organic solvent, thereby being covalently bonded thereto through an ester bond. With such a method, there can be provided an ocular lens material which prevents protein adsorption. In the formula (2), n is a natural number of 1-18.
