A method of producing a polyfluorohydrocarbon coating on a razor blade edge, comprising: (a) coating razor blade edge with a dispersed mixture containing 0.5 percent to 5 percent by mass of a polyfluorohydrocarbon polymer in a dispersion medium, containing fluorohydrocarbons, water, volatile organic compounds or carbon dioxide in a supercritical state; (b) keeping the coating at the temperature of agglomeration of single polymer particles to create a continuous coating, which adheres tightly to razor blade edge, but not exceeding 750 degrees Celsius; characterised in that: (c) a heated coating is treated with a solvent, which partly solves the fluorohydrocarbon polymer coating, leaving on a razor blade edge a membrane which is thinner than the one in stage (b). A low-polar or non-polar solvent characterised by dispersion at the PTFE melting temperature is used as the solvent in this stage. The critical temperature or the boiling point of the solvent is above the temperature of dissolving polyfluorohydrocarbon in the solvent. Razor blades are processed at the temperature below the boiling point or below the critical temperature of the solvent and above the temperature of dissolving the polyfluorohydrocarbon polymer in the solvent; and (d) the excess of the solvent is removed from the treated coating.
